For CAW Local 555, Unit 3, negotiations for a
Collective Agreement, were completed September 8th, 2006. This Collective
Agreement runs from September 16th, 2006 to September 15th, 2009.

Unit 3
(PTS) Ratify New Collective Agreement
At the Parking and Transit Services Ratifcation Vote
held September 12, 2006, Unit 3 members voted overwhelmingly in favour of a
new 3 year Collective Agreement.
Major improvements in job enhancement, benefits, sick
leave, vacation and wages were achieved. Language to maintain the Rule of
80 and ensure no changes to the hourly pension plan for our Members was
also attained.
Members voted 82.3% in favour of ratification. Your
Bargaining Committee would like to thank all of our Members for their show
of support and confidence during this set of negotiations.

Tentative
Agreement Reached
Late Friday, September 8th, 2006, the Unit 3 (Parking
and Transit Services - PTS) Bargaining Committee reached a Tentative
Agreement with the University. A ratification meeting is being held on
Tuesday, September 12th, 2006. Further details will be available after the
meeting.
Strong Show
of Solidarity! - UNIT 3
At a Membership meeting held on July 5th, CAW Local
555 Members of Parking & Transit Services (Unit #3) elected their
Bargaining Committee. Elected to the Bargaining Committee were Emily
Heikoop, Don Zalitack and Joe McGuire. Joining the Bargaining Committee will be
Mina Sarajcic, President (CAW Local 555), Mike Groom, Executive Assistant
(CAW Local 555) and Ron Smith, National Representative (CAW-Canada).
The CAW Local 555 Members empowered their Bargaining
Committee with an overwhelmingly 100% strike mandate! This vote is a clear
message that the Membership is solidly behind their Bargaining Committee
and their Local 555.
Notice to bargain was delivered to the Employer on
June 15, 2006. Dates for bargaining have yet to be determined. The
Collective Agreement is set to expire on September 15, 2006.
